You’ll partner closely with divisional leaders and lead country football agents, providing robust financial insight to inform decision-making and support growth and margin expansion. It’s a good fit for someone who thrives in a fast-moving business environment, can manage multiple priorities and is committed to delivering an excellent service to our agents and clients.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Finance Business Partnering for Global Football EMEA, partnering with heads of divisions on strategic planning from both organic and acquisitive growth perspectives.
- Partner with Global Football operational teams.
- Lead the financial planning cycle for the division, including budgets, forecasts, long-term plans, performance reviews, upside and risk tracking, and financial reporting accuracy improvement.
- Oversee and manage the month end close process including ensuring account certifications are prepared to the highest standards in line with group policy and submitted in a timely fashion.
- Build commercial insights across divisions, cost centres and agent P&Ls, transfer and agency revenue, athlete marketing and client roster strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
- Model the impact of contract renewals, new agent hires, client roster changes and team deal structures so leaders can make better-informed decisions.
- Establish clear performance management reporting , including KPI packs, monthly business reviews, variance analysis and follow-up with accountable business owners.
- Challenge investment requests and deal economics, ensuring commercial ambition is balanced with appropriate financial governance.
- Quantify financial risk and work with division leads to mitigate identified risks.
- Oversee revenue and profitability tracking by agent, cost centre and geography, highlighting the drivers behind performance rather than only reporting outcomes.
- Oversee the partnering with shared service and central finance teams on billing, accrued income, aged debt, cash conversion and month-end hand-offs, ensuring operational processes support commercial performance.
- Lead projects to improve processes and efficiencies, collaborating with the wider finance team
- Improve reporting, models and data definitions, reducing manual effort and creating a clearer single source of truth for Football leadership.
- Resolve non-standard issues and challenges, using strong judgement and leadership skills.
- Lead, coach and develop the Global Football Finance and Accounting team, ensuring high-quality finance and accounting support for the division, while raising financial literacy across the wider Football team and helping non-finance stakeholders understand the commercial consequences of decision-making.
- Support the M&A team in due diligence and deal processes, providing knowledge and expertise around the sector and deal economics.
- Lead and manage the integration of acquisitions and/or new business ventures and quickly establish robust financial controls and reporting that align to group.
What We’re Looking For
- A senior finance leader with strong Finance Business Partnering experience, ideally gained in a sport, media or talent management agency
- Qualified accountant (10+ years post qualified), with the technical depth to operate confidently across P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, revenue recognition principles, working capital and management reporting.
- Proven ability to lead budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, scenario modelling and performance management in a fast-moving business with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen, including the ability to understand the Football industry and how its activities ultimately impact on the businesses financial performance.
- A credible senior stakeholder partner who can influence, challenge and advise leadership teams while maintaining trust.
- Excellent analytical judgement ensuring insights translate into actionable recommendations.
- Communicator who can simplify complex financial issues for non-finance audiences and tell a clear commercial story through reports, dashboards and presentations.
- Strong control mindset and judgement, with the ability to balance entrepreneurial pace with financial discipline, governance and risk awareness.
- Comfortable improving processes, models and reporting infrastructure, including working with planning tools, Excel, BI dashboards and finance systems.
- People leadership experience is essential, particularly coaching of team members and building high-performance partnering capability.
- Experience working in a multinational organisation, managing deliverables to both regional and global head offices alongside local subsidiary offices and operations
- Promote a supportive team environment and provide work direction and guidance, contributing to the overall high standard and continuous improvement culture.
What We Offer

- Private healthcare, Gymflex, enhanced parental leave & cycle to work scheme benefits amongst many others
- Excellent office environment; we're dog friendly, offer company and departmental social events and breakfast, drinks and snacks in the office
