Individual Resiliency Trainer (IRT) – Navigate


Position Summary
South County Mental Health Center, Inc. is seeking an Individual Resiliency Trainer (IRT) to support adults experiencing psychosis by providing education, individualized support, and resiliency-building strategies designed to help clients understand their illness and work toward recovery.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Psychology, Social Services, Social Work, Behavioral Health, or an equivalent degree.
  • One (1) year of experience working with the adult mental health population.
  • Intermediate to advanced counseling skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and develop trust with a diverse population.
  • Ability to conduct interviews and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Mental Health or Social Services from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with the adult mental health population.
  • Experience providing mental health education, counseling, assessments, or treatment planning.


Duties and Responsibilities
Individual Resiliency Training & Client Support
  • Assist clients in identifying strengths needed to achieve their goals.
  • Teach clients strategies and skills to build resiliency while coping with psychosis and staying on track with their lives.
  • Provide a minimum of weekly individual sessions using Navigate Education IRT modules.
  • Evaluate client progress and document services appropriately.
Treatment Planning & Team Collaboration
  • Participate in the collaborative treatment planning process.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with other providers and community stakeholders.
  • Participate in client assessments and treatment planning as appropriate.
Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities          
  • Maintain timely and accurate progress notes, referrals, and assessments.
  • Complete required documentation related to client services.
  • Attend required trainings and obtain required certificates.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Supervision & Professional Development
  • Receive a minimum of one hour of weekly supervision from the Director/Team Leader.
  • Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
  • Follow applicable confidentiality laws, abuse reporting guidelines, client rights requirements, ethical standards, and practice standards.
Additional Duties
  • Maintain familiarity with the Baker and Marchman Acts.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with providers and community stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of client education, medication compliance, community resources, assessments, and treatment planning.
  • Ability to appropriately respond to physically or verbally aggressive clients.


Physical Demands
  • Position requires direct interaction with clients in a mental health treatment setting.
  • May involve working with clients experiencing behavioral or emotional distress.
  • Ability to safely respond to challenging client behaviors as required by the position.


Working Conditions
  • Navigate program environment serving adults with mental health needs.
  • Frequent interaction with clients, treatment team members, providers, and community stakeholders.
  • Position is classified as OSHA Class III.
  • Community-based activities and travel may be required.


Performance Standards
Performance will be evaluated based on:
  • Consistent delivery of weekly individual IRT sessions.
  • Effectiveness in helping clients understand psychosis and develop resiliency strategies.
  • Progress toward client-identified goals.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of documentation.
  • Effective participation in treatment planning and team meetings.
  • Compliance with confidentiality, client rights, abuse reporting, ethical, and practice standards.
  • Professional collaboration with providers, clients, families, and community stakeholders.


Schedule & Work Details
Full-Time Position
Schedule: Monday – Friday (hours may vary based on organizational needs)
Location: In-person (Delray Beach, FL) / community-based as required
Pay: $23.50 per hour
