Summary of Position

Build, maintain, grow, and secure our healthcare platform, furthering our reputation as a technical pioneer, during this time of exponential growth.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Determines a course of action based on guidelines and modifies processes and methods as required.
• Applies learned techniques and contributes to analysis and investigation to solve problems.
• Focuses on providing standard professional advice and creating initial reports/analyses for review by experienced team professionals.
• Provide technical leadership to a small engineering team on a project-by-project basis.
• Create engineering tasks based on product requirement documents provided by product managers and engineering managers.
• Provide code reviews to engineering peers based on experience with PHP, Symfony, React, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, SQL, and PostgreSQL, using a perspective that always takes member experience as the foremost consideration.
• Architect and develop features and core platform capabilities geared towards member experience.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and services using PHP/Symfony and React.
• Design database schemas, optimize queries, and develop automated test code using PostgreSQL.
• Deploy and maintain containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Support and troubleshoot applications running in Linux environments.
• Build and maintain cloud-native solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure services.
• Update existing code to improve scalability, availability, and performance of systems and data processing workflows to improve member experience and operational efficiency.
  

Qualifications Expected for Position

• 2.5+ years of CS industry experience.
• 3+ years engineering design and software development experience specialized in member-facing applications and services.
• 3+ years of experience developing applications using PHP and Symfony.
• Experience developing modern web applications using React.
• 3+ years of experience designing database schemas and writing optimized SQL queries using PostgreSQL.
• Experience deploying and managing applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Experience building and supporting applications in Microsoft Azure environments.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and command-line tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
