Turning Point, Inc. is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and organized Cook to join our treatment team. In this critical role, you'll help oversee all kitchen operations and ensure that clients receive nutritious, safe, and well-prepared meals each day.The Cook will be responsible for planning, preparing, and supervising all aspects of food service within the facility. This includes designing menus that meet dietary needs, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and maintaining a calm, supportive and clean kitchen environment aligned with our mission of care.

What You’ll Do:

As a Cook, you’ll be the supportive backbone of our client services. Your role will include:

• Plan and execute daily menus that support client health and dietary requirements
• Prepare meals in accordance with established nutritional guidelines
• Supervise kitchen staff and oversee daily food service operations
• Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols
• Managing kitchen phone and emails 
• Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of food and supplies
• Ensure all meals are served on schedule to support client routines
• Collaborate with clinical staff regarding dietary restrictions and special needs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
• Support a trauma-informed, client-focused atmosphere
• Keeping accurate shift notes, and reports.
• Responding to behavioral emergencies with professionalism, using de-escalation techniques.
• Participating in staff meetings and contributing to a positive, recovery-focused environment

Shift You'll Work: 

Saturdays and Sundays: First Shift (16 hours/week) 

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking someone who’s organized, empathetic, and ready to make a difference. The ideal candidate will bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in food management is a plus
• Previous experience as a Chef, Executive Chef, or Kitchen Manager preferred
• Ability to plan balanced, nutritious menus
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
• Experience working in healthcare, treatment centers, or institutional settings is a plus
• Leadership skills with the ability to guide and support kitchen staff
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work in a structured environment
• Understanding of addiction treatment and mental health support
• Need to speak, read, and write in English. 
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds
• Confidence in responding to crises and managing high-stress situations calmly
• Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
• Commitment to ethical standards, client confidentiality, and program integrity
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays
