About Us:
SWD Inc. opened for business in March 1980 with three employees in a 9,000 sq. ft. leased facility and began black oxiding, cleaning, and pickling operations with used equipment. In late 1980, the company began passivating stainless steel and in 1981 purchased Fastener Sorting Corporation. Today, a recognized leader in the Metal Finishing and Fastener Sorting fields, SWD Inc. has over 250 employees and runs three shifts per day in its 250,000 sq. ft. facility just west of Chicago in Addison, Illinois.

What We're Seeking:
We are seeking a full-time Plant Custodian for 1st Shift (Hours: 7am-3pm) with overtime on Saturdays as business needs demand. The starting pay is $18.00 per hour. New employees will receive performance evaluations and potential raises at 60 Days, 6 Months, and 12 Months, then annually each year after that.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained facility by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and performing general housekeeping throughout the plant.
- Operate power cleaning equipment, including vacuums, carpet shampooers, and the Dry Ice Blasting Machine to support facility and production area cleanliness.
- Empty trash, recycling, and waste containers, including cardboard and plastic compactors.
- Safely handle, use, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
- Perform routine building upkeep, facility inspections, and minor repairs; report damage, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards to management.
- Conduct security and property checks, observing and reporting any damage, defacement, or unusual activity on company property.
- Maintain inventory and control stock of housekeeping, cleaning, and facility supplies; coordinate maintenance and repair services as needed.
- Comply with all SWD Inc. safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required
- Manufacturing experience and forklift experience is a plus
