Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Gastro Clinic LPN, you will provide essential nursing care and dedicated support to patients within our gastroenterology clinic, ensuring efficient operations and compassionate patient experiences.Every day you will expertly assist physicians during examinations and procedures, administer medications, educate patients on gastrointestinal conditions and treatments, and meticulously document patient information and care provided.To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a patient, detail-oriented demeanor, contributing to optimal patient flow and high-quality care in gastroenterology.

  • Provide pre-admit nursing care by telephone, including patient interviews, initial assessments, and accurate nursing documentation within LPN scope of practice.
  • Collect and document essential patient information, including weight, allergies, current medications, presenting concerns, and relevant medical history.
  • Triage patient needs, recognize urgent or emergent conditions, and promptly communicate changes in patient status to the appropriate provider.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient assessments, examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Coordinate patient care by assessing patient and family needs, communicating with providers, monitoring records for completeness, and ensuring timely, accurate documentation.
  • Educate patients on gastrointestinal conditions, treatments, pre-admit instructions, and preventative care while evaluating understanding and supporting compliance.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program (or equivalent recognized military training) and one year of related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities
  • Licensed Practical Nurse: WA
  • America Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR

Preferred

  • One year of related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities, in a medical clinic or acute care healthcare environment
  • Certified Gastroenterology RN
