What you'll be doing

Reporting to the VP, Funds Transfer Pricing, the Director will lead a team and drive the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) framework for Treasury. The incumbent will serve as the principal contact for RCM Program administration, ensuring regulatory obligations are met through robust controls, timely risk assessments, and effective remediation of compliance gaps. Responsibilities include maintaining the RCM rules library and training materials, monitoring regulatory developments, and producing compliance risk reporting to inform leadership decisions. Additionally, the Director and team will act as centralized points of contact for governance, audit, and infrastructure activities, overseeing policy management, key compliance controls, and operational support for RCSA programs across Canada and global regions. The role requires frequent interaction with senior management and collaboration with business leaders, compliance partners, and second line of defense groups to drive effective oversight and reduce regulatory compliance risk.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed

  • Regulatory Compliance Management - Lead and enhance Treasury’s Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) framework, ensuring controls align with regulatory obligations and leading practices.

  • Program Oversight - Support RCM program administration, documentation, regulatory change management, and the tools and materials that enable consistent execution across Treasury.

  • Risk Assessment & Monitoring - Oversee risk-based assessments, monitor regulatory developments, and coordinate remediation of compliance gaps in line with policy requirements.

  • Reporting & Insights - Develop reporting and metrics that support leadership oversight, decision-making, and effective management of compliance risk.

  • Governance & Controls - Act as a central point of contact for governance, audit, and infrastructure activities, while overseeing key controls, policy reviews, attestations, and records retention.

  • Audit & RCSA Support - Manage reporting and scheduling for control testing, audits, deficiencies, and Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) activities to support timely execution and reduce business disruption.

  • Partnership - Build strong relationships with business leaders and governance, risk, audit, compliance, and second line of defense partners to strengthen oversight and support Treasury’s priorities.
