The Kramer Lab in the Division of Oncology at WashU Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to join our research team. The lab is interested in using artificial intelligence designed molecules to understand and treat leukemia. We use a variety of model systems and patient samples, with a focus on targeting the mutant proteins that drive acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The ideal candidate for this position will be eager to learn new skills and laboratory techniques, excited about troubleshooting and problem solving, and looking to contribute to our knowledge of cancer and advance the field towards cures for patients.Primary responsibilities will be in the wet lab and will include assisting with experiments, maintaining cell cultures, and collecting and analyzing data. Significant hands-on training at the start of the role is available, with the expectation that the role will grow in responsibility and independence over time. Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists with research studies, experiments and assays, including collection of data, preparation of solutions and setup and maintenance of equipment.
Performs data entry and maintains data files on research.
Prepares tissue cultures, reagents, probe tests, etc.
Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
Ensures lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
