Hitachi Energy is seeking a Factory Director Senior Leader to manage all aspects related to operations of the Distribution Transformer manufacturing plant in South Boston VA which includes the full scope of production, quality, operational excellence and logistics.
Key Tasks:
- Manage overall manufacturing operations, including staff and the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process.
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and lean principles to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Develop programs and metrics to optimize operational performance and working capital.
- Recruit, retain, and develop high-performing teams while establishing a talent pipeline for future leaders. Ensure a strong customer focus and uphold high ethical standards in all operations.
- Provide a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with the ITM (Integrated Transformer Management System) team to integrate lean manufacturing principles into production processes.
- Address challenges: backfill key positions and provide training and mentoring to leaders. Tackle production hurdles due to machine issues, part shortages, or personnel shortages.
- Promote and embody Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing management.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety standards.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, drive engagement, and achieve high performance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex situations and resolve issues.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members, implementing training and development programs that enhance skills and promote career growth.
