Description

Wellways is committed to reconciliation, lived experience and inclusivity. We strongly encourage and warmly welcome people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people with a lived experience of mental health and disability and people who identify as LGBTIQA+ to apply. Even if you only meet some of the criteria, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across four regional hubs
  • Build strong GP and community partnerships
  • Salary $128,000–$141,000 + superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience
  • Full time opportunity based in any of our Murrumbidgee locations

Are you a confident clinical and operational leader who is passionate about improving mental health outcomes and creating stronger connections between people, primary care and community services?

This is an opportunity to help establish and shape a new multidisciplinary mental health service across the Murrumbidgee region. We’re looking for a leader who can bring the Better. Together. service to life by building a multidisciplinary team where clinical, psychosocial and lived experience expertise are equally valued. Developing strong, trusted partnerships with GPs, primary care and community services to improve access is a key part of the role.

About Better. Together.

Better. Together. is a free mental health service for people aged 18 and over across the Murrumbidgee region.

We believe better mental health care happens when services work together, not separately. Our multidisciplinary teams work alongside general practices to provide care that is tailored to each person, from clinical interventions, psychosocial support and peer support through to care coordination, service navigation, social prescribing and group programs.

Our approach is person-centred, recovery-oriented and focused on the whole person. We work with participants, GPs and the wider service system to support mental, physical, social and emotional wellbeing.

As Service & GP Partnerships Manager, you'll help strengthen the partnerships that make this possible. You will influence how care is delivered, support the people providing it and contribute to better outcomes for individuals and communities across the region.

This is an opportunity to be part of a service that is transforming how mental health care is delivered by working better together.

Where you come in

As Service & GP Partnerships Manager, you will be at the centre of making this approach work including the opportunity to build team from the ground up.

You will then lead the service’s Team Leaders, providing clinical and operational leadership across our four hubs and their surrounding communities. You’ll provide governance and operational leadership, supporting Team Leaders and their teams to navigate complex situations, make sound decisions and deliver safe, high-quality, person-led care.

Working closely with GPs, general practices, primary care providers and community organisations, you will help build and maintain strong, trusted partnerships that support good referral pathways, shared understanding of local mental health and wellbeing supports and more coordinated care across services.

And while you'll provide leadership and direction, this isn't a role that happens from behind a desk.

You will be out in the community, visiting teams and practices, building relationships and seeing firsthand the impact of the work you're leading. Regular travel across the Murrumbidgee region will be part of the role.

Please Note: this position can be based out of any of our offices – Wagga Wagga, Deniliquin, Griffith and Young.

Why this role matters

Mental health care can be complex. Finding the right support can be challenging and for people living in regional communities, having services that are connected and accessible can make a significant difference.

That's why Better. Together. exists.

You'll be joining a team that believes good mental health care is about more than one service, one appointment or one professional, it's about people working together.

You will also need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and current registration or accreditation, at the level required for that discipline - refer to position description for detailed list
  • Demonstrated clinical experience, such as assessment, counselling, risk management, care planning or clinical oversight and a strong background in mental health services, sufficient to inform clinical leadership and credible engagement with general practice
  • Right to work in Australia
  • 100 points of ID
  • Valid Driver Licence
  • Satisfactory National Police Record Check
  • International Police Check (if appliable)
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate – Quality Safety and You

If you're looking for a role where leadership, clinical expertise and community connection come together, we'd love to hear from you.
