Post Doctoral Scholar with the College of Nursing will be hired to manage day-to-day project logistics and scientific dissemination on a five-year project focused on socioecological factors impacting sleep health in toddlers. Incumbent will be responsible for planning and supervising recruitment and data collection, coordinating all day-to-day project logistics, and managing project communications within the team at OSU, the collaborating study team at the University of Cincinnati,  participants and recruitment site personnel, as well as the following responsibilities: leads and assesses quality of all fieldwork, oversees human subject reports and compliance needs, and supervises undergraduate research assistants. The incumbent will coordinate the management, retention, cleaning, and analysis of research data, administration of both caregiver and child measures and assessments, and conduct data management tasks. The incumbent assists with the supervision of Graduate Associates, providing guidance on all data collection protocols (e.g. assessments and observations) and tracking towards project timelines and goals. The incumbent schedules, manages, and conducts data collection efforts (e.g., child assessments, caregiver surveys and observations) and oversees/conducts any necessary coding on an ongoing basis. The work involves regular travel to recruitment sites and participants’ homes for data collection. The incumbent manages IRB and human subjects' activities (e.g., consent), including: scheduling, planning, and delivery of recruitment, implementation activities, and reporting. The incumbent will handle the ordering and distributing of project materials, schedule, plan, and lead weekly project planning meetings and other meetings as assigned. The incumbent will also engage in scientific dissemination, data analysis, and generation of reports or related materials to support the project. The incumbent is expected to work closely with the PI and other investigators at both sites, as well as the project coordinator of the collaborating study team at University of Cincinnati to meet project goals and deliverables. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education required, degree level and focus area:  PhD or equivalent doctoral-based research training

Minimum Years of Experience required: At least 1 year of relevant post doctoral experience required in scientific dissemination, data cleaning and management, data analysis, experience managing a multi-year and multi-site federally funded grant, human subjects’ protocols and management, responsible conduct of research. Large-scale community-based recruitment. Experience collecting, managing, cleaning, and analyzing actigraphy-based sleep data. Experience or demonstrated interest in project coordination; Prior supervisory experience; Strong written & oral communications. Prior experience working with families and children, conducting home visits, Knowledge of desktop computing, Microsoft Office suite products, statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R/RStudio). Experience working collaboratively with others.

Desired Experience:

Extensive experience with project management; geographic information systems analysis and linkage of data from public repositories. Knowledgeable of research practices, including experience with human subjects’ projects. Experience in field of early childhood research. Publication record in high-impact peer-reviewed journals. Experience with dissemination of de-identified data in public repositories. Experience working with families and children from diverse backgrounds; 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
