Assistant Director - Family Support Services
FLSA: Exempt
Reports To: Director of Community Supports
Physical Requirements: Normal office environment. May regularly be at a computer for long periods of time. Bending, pulling, lifting, standing, sitting etc.
Hours of Work: Forty (40) hours per week. M-F 8a-4:30p; on a weekend or as needed; on-call and holiday work and additional hours as needed or assigned.
Job Summary:
Oversees all of Family Support Services and all associated programs. Ensure regulatory compliance as required. Develop and oversee programs to ensure continuous quality improvement. Ensure budgetary compliance. Ensures effective and collaborative communication with FSS managers and the department.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services or related field required
- Minimum 3 years of administrative and supervisory experience required
- Minimum of three years prior experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or related human services program experience required.
- Must demonstrate proven leadership, communication, fiscal and administrative skills
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
- Valid NYS Driver's License that meets agency standards
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision to Family Support Managers and other direct reports and ensure that managers are performing their required job responsibilities.
- Ensure that direct support levels are adequate for all services, manage FTE and OT within department budget.
- Review and process Medicaid billing for all FSS programs per agency policy and OPWDD regulations
- Oversight and administration of the OPWDD FSS Contract; including but not limited to coordination of the FSS Committee, review and processing of applications, completing quarterly reports for OPWDD, maintaining required documents, and working closely with the business office to ensure expenditures within each grant portion are used and accounted for according to requirements.
- Review and approve all plans for regulatory compliance.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all associated State and Federal regulations and maintain regulatory compliance
- Work with Director to analyze, manage and maintain departmental budget
