Description
The Graphic Installer is responsible for installing, applying, and finishing graphics, signage, vinyl wraps, decals, and other brand elements on scenic structures, walls, vehicles, and experiential displays. This role requires precision, craftsmanship, and strong attention to detail. You will work both in the shop and onsite, collaborating with design and production teams to ensure brand assets are applied cleanly, accurately, and according to creative specifications.Key ResponsibilitiesInterpret installation drawings, shop drawings, and design briefs to understand graphic placement and alignment.Prepare surfaces for graphic application: clean, sand, prime, and mask as needed to ensure optimal adhesion.Install a wide range of graphic materials, including vinyl wraps, adhesive films, decals, laminated prints, and rigid signage.Use tools such as squeegees, heat guns, utility knives, tape measures, and straight edges to apply graphics smoothly and without bubbles or wrinkles.Trim, cut, and finish edges of graphics for a polished, professional look.Oversee and execute vehicle wraps, wall installations, pop-up displays, and branded architectural elements.Collaborate with production, fabrication, and scenic teams to coordinate installations during build-in and event setup.Conduct touch-ups, repairs, or reapplications of graphics as needed throughout activation builds.Manage graphic inventory, report material needs, and coordinate with procurement or production management.Maintain proper storage and organization of graphics, films, and decal materials.Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working at heights or on scaffolding.Document completed installations, take “as-built” photographs, and log installation issues or challenges for quality control.Assist with teardown or de-rig of graphics at the end of activations, ensuring clean removal and safe disposal or storage.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical training (sign-making, visual communications, graphic arts) preferred.1–4 years of experience installing graphics, vinyl wraps, signage, or related materials in experiential, event, or retail environments.Proven ability to work with vinyl, adhesive films, decals, and varied substrate materials (wood, metal, plastic, painted surfaces).Skilled in surface preparation, measurement, layout, and precision application.Proficiency in using installation tools (squeegees, heat guns, precision knives, measuring devices).Ability to read and interpret installation diagrams, design mockups, and shop drawings.Excellent hand–eye coordination, steady hands, and strong visual acuity.Physical stamina and comfort working at heights, using ladders or lifts, and maneuvering in tight spaces.Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality finishes.Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with creative, production, and on-site teams.Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to event or installation sites, often working onsite.Flexibility to work non-standard hours during activation build-in, event days, and teardown.Commitment to following safety procedures and working responsibly with tools and materials.Work Environment & ConditionsSplit between shop environment (fabrication facility) and onsite installation locations.Exposure to various conditions: working at heights, in crowded event venues, or under infrastructure like scaffolding.Frequent use of PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, and potentially harnesses.Physically demanding work: lifting large graphic panels, climbing, bending, and extended standing.Potential for long hours, weekend shifts, evening calls, and travel depending on project needs.Why Work at BMF?Contribute directly to high-impact brand experiences and immersive environments.Work alongside a skilled team of designers, fabricators, and production professionals.Build expertise in graphic installation, large-scale applications, and event environments.Grow your career in a creative, fast-paced, and collaborative agency.Be part of a company that values precision, innovation, and craftsmanship in bringing visual experiences to life.
