International Logistics Director
Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking an International Logistics Director to provide strategic leadership, governance oversight, and operational direction to the International Logistics division. This role is responsible for driving sustainable growth, client retention, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, risk management, and financial performance across all regions and functional areas. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary leadership team overseeing customs operations, regional operations, forwarding, Africa expansion, transport strategy, project cargo, financial management, SHERQ compliance, human capital development, and business process optimisation. The role focuses on driving innovation, automation, and continuous improvement to enhance productivity, competitiveness, and profitability, while ensuring compliance with customs regulations, ISO standards, and corporate governance frameworks. As the custodian of operational performance, customer value delivery, and risk governance, the International Logistics Director will ensure the division remains resilient, scalable, compliant, and strategically positioned for long-term growth
Experience and Responsiblities:
- Minimum 8 years’ leadership experience managing multi-functional teams
- Proven experience in driving operational and financial performance
- Experience managing regulatory compliance and customs risk
- Experience leading transformation, automation, or operational improvement initiatives
- Experience managing customer relationships and business development
- Experience managing large-scale operational or regional logistics functions
- Strategic thinking and execution across complex operational environments
- Operational leadership with accountability for end-to-end performance
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including cost and margin management
- Risk management and governance oversight across operational functions
- Performance management of teams and business units
- Proven ability to drive ESG and sustainability initiatives
- Experience ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Track record of driving innovation and automation in business processes
- Experience leading business development and market expansion initiatives
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and corporate governance
- Strategic risk identification and mitigation experience
- Commercial and pricing strategy development experience

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (essential)
- Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (advantageous)
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (advantageous)
