What You Will Do
- Architect, design, and deliver complex software systems that are crucial to the platform's core functionality.
- Drive technical strategy and establish engineering standards across teams, influencing software development at scale.
- Lead the development of scalable and maintainable backend systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into engineering solutions.
- Mentor and elevate the skills of senior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and technical debt, ensuring system reliability and efficiency.
- Contribute to the hiring process and help shape the engineering culture of a remote-first team.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make informed build-vs-buy decisions to keep the platform competitive.
Ideal Candidate Background
- 6–10 years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record in delivering impactful systems at scale.
- Strong foundation in software architecture, system design, and distributed systems, particularly in backend development.
- Experience working on consumer-facing or marketplace platforms where performance and reliability are critical.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and work autonomously in a remote environment.
- Passion for building products that positively impact people's lives and careers.
Preferred
- Experience with messy, unstructured client data feeds and normalizing them for platform use.
- Proven leadership in the design and implementation of robust data ingestion or processing systems.
- Familiarity with modernizing or streamlining ingestion systems in a high-growth environment.
Compensation and Benefits
