Senior Portfolio Manager: Partnership
Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager: Partnerships. Reporting to the GM: Strategic Partnerships, the role will be responsible for the management of strategic client partnerships. The successful incumbent will be supported by key account executives in the execution of their duties. The role will focus on the identification and management of key strategic partners with the aim of maximising business opportunities that generate revenue and profitability. Key responsibilities include sales management, partnership engagement, operational oversight of various business units, and a strong understanding of ROI, key lifecycle metrics, and team management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop short- and long-term sales strategies to achieve company sales targets and profitability.
- Build, manage, and maintain effective partnerships with key decision-makers in strategic partner organisations.
- Drive value creation by engaging executive stakeholders in discussions on business strategy and challenges, supported by tailored sales presentations.
- Set strategic direction for assigned partners/clients and oversee execution aligned with business objectives.
- Analyse business opportunities based on profitability for the company and value to partners.
- Prepare and deliver accurate weekly and monthly sales forecasts, including pipeline reporting and progress tracking.
- Manage and develop partnership proposals in line with organisational strategy, prioritising key projects.
- Identify and recruit new staff members as required.
- Ensure efficient and effective use of financial and operational resources.
- Manage relationships with PR agencies and collaborate on editorial, advertorial, and related marketing content.
Partner & Relationship Management
- Raise organisational profile by developing and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers across partner organisations.
- Schedule and conduct regular partner visits.
- Oversee senior-level relationships and ensure service delivery meets agreed expectations.
- Drive partner renewal rates and long-term retention.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration, growth, and increased revenue generation.
- Evaluate partnership effectiveness, ROI, and customer success metrics to improve engagement and lifetime value.
- Develop initiatives to expand revenue streams and enhance brand and media presence across key markets.
- Lead negotiation and structuring of partnership agreements.
Team Leadership & Management
- Manage a team of specialists responsible for strengthening partnerships and executing campaigns.
- Set performance targets and ensure accountability through regular monitoring and management.
- Identify, develop, and retain talent within the team, supporting training and career growth.
Experience & Requirements
- 5–8 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Long-Term Insurance.
- At least 3 years’ management experience.
- Proven track record in sales performance and exceeding targets.
- Experience engaging with C-suite and senior executive stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing strategic partnerships at executive level.
- Strong experience driving revenue through partnership development and key account management.
- Solid understanding of end-to-end Key Account Management processes.
- Budget management and sales team leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of insurance products, particularly group benefits and long-term insurance.
- Legal and technical knowledge of insurance/financial products.
- Experience in employee benefits preferred.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong relationship-building and opportunity development skills.
- Proven ability to manage large, complex deals and deliver measurable sales outcomes.
