Description
A well-established automotive group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cashbook Controller to join its Motor Retail Head Office team based in Milnerton, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing bank account processing and payment controls across multiple dealerships within the Western Cape. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment within a large, diversified group.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing, allocating, and reconciling multiple bank accounts on a daily basis
- Managing the flow of daily ad-hoc payments, including reviewing payments and coordinating with other stakeholders involved in the payment review process
- Ensuring timelines are met in accordance with standard operating procedures related to payments
- Reporting directly to the Financial Manager and liaising with senior management when required
- Collaborating with dealership teams, Dealer Principals, and Financial Managers
- Assisting with ad-hoc projects and tasks as required
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a cashbook or similar role, managing high volumes of bank accounts across multiple entities
- Ability to work in a dynamic, retail-driven environment
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet strict month-end deadlines
Education and Experience:
- Relevant accounting or finance qualification advantageous
- Experience working on accounting systems such as Sage/Pastel, CDK/Autoline, Kerridge, or similar is highly recommended
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication skills with a high level of confidence
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders across different levels
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
