Desktop Support Intern

Description

The Desktop Support Intern is an in-office only role where you’ll be providing technical support for internal staff as needed, while focusing on endpoint management, documentation, and assisting on various IT initiatives. You will be responsible for troubleshooting IT-related issues, setting up equipment, and ensuring the seamless operation of technology systems. You will gain hands-on experience while supporting the infrastructure that keeps our company running smoothly. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of laptops and peripheral devices (monitors, webcams, printers, etc.)
• Provide technical support to employees for software and hardware issues, escalating more complex issues to senior IT staff as needed
• Perform system imaging, software deployment, and hardware replacement tasks
• Maintain and update inventory of IT equipment
• Assist with routine IT maintenance tasks such as daily checklist and documentation updates
• Collaborate with the IT team on various projects, learning about network and server configurations, cybersecurity practices, and overall IT infrastructure

Requirements

• Recent graduate or have a current enrollment in a college or university program related to Information Technology
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/MacOS), and common software applications (Microsoft Office, etc.)
• Strong technical problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
• A willingness to learn new technologies and skills in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

• Experience with networking concepts and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with IT ticketing systems
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, or similar platforms
