The role
This role is responsible for ensuring a smooth transition of MDM Finance operations from Unilever to TMICC, with no disruption to business users. It drives the rollout of new MDG-based processes across markets, manages partner handovers, and ensures stable operations . Post-transition, the role focuses on strengthening data governance, standardization, and continuous improvement to maintain high data quality and end-to-end integrity..
What you'll be responsible for
Core Transformation role
- With the demerger of TMICC from Unilever, the role will lead the mapping of existing roles of MDM with various partners, ensure himself/herself is fully understanding the needs of NEW MDG tool and new processes that are being built. Ensure the existing partner FTEs have SMEs for the new rulesets to land in their operations. Ensure testing starts as soon as possible. Also participate in data cleaning and data migration. TSA exit and transfer will be led by this role as well.
- Secure approvals and change control process on data models and master data management processes
- In steady state, support maintaining of the Data Landscape target information models - including master & transactional data-, regulatory and standardization controls, ensuring data quality and end-to-end consistency, including in cooperation with other BIEs; validating it with BPO/BPEs as part of the solution design, and with IT BA’s ensuring implementation as per design; documenting it using standard notations, templates and tools as defined within Enterprise Information Management.
- Actively supporting the business transformation in data migration preparation and execution:
- Support creation and maintenance of data quality rules/checks, reaching-out to relevant IT BA’s & data stewards for control definition and relevant measurement;
- Support Data defect resolution: provides solutions / decisions / adjustment of cleansing rules and data model
- Supporting the definition of the master data domain roadmap including requirements, design and governance, implementation and deployment of the Master Data Management (MDM) solution and processes.
- Identifying and promoting continuous improvement opportunities to drive standardization design and adherence, including on data quality, by linking to business stakeholders, BPEs, data services and projects as well as with the IT community (including partner organizations)
- Freeze scope for data migration with the business: Source systems and objects, Relevancy rules, source rules, data object ownership matrix completed by business; Responsible to document and validate these inputs in the data requirements specification document.
- Design and validate value mapping with business, incl. transformation, harmonization rules (+reconciliation for finance) with support Data Migration Expert (DME).
- Create data cleansing rules as needed by Domain Leads
- Execute data cleansing based on rules by BIOs/Domain Leads and orphan data/construction, engaging with business and BPEs.
- Support Data Migration Experts(DME) in upload file preparation: carries-out data quality check before load. Perform data qualification:
- Analyze Pre- and post-load reports with the DME: resolve mismatch and exceptions, trigger BIE or BPE or IT BA for solution definition in their areas of responsibility
- Act as defect log first reviewer to confirm allocation of defect to relevant owners
MDM Function set up
- Establish and support scale the MDM team.
- Support developing data models where applicable.
- Lead MDM improvement initiatives in relevant domains
- Ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely delivery of data management responsibilities.
- Build capability within the team—hiring, upskilling, mentoring, and defining roles/workflows.
Transition Management
- Lead the transition of Product or Material domain, to SAP MDG (greenfield implementation), transition of MDM processes and teams from global or regional units into the GBS.
- Perform due diligence, risk analysis, and knowledge transfer planning.
- Ensure seamless migration with minimal business disruption.
- Align processes to the GBS operating model and standard tools.
- Drive stakeholder management throughout transition cycles.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner closely with global business leaders, GBS leadership, service line heads, and transformation teams.
- Communicate performance insights, business outcomes, and improvement opportunities.
- Build trusted relationships across levels and geographies.
We're looking for someone who
Rather than an exhaustive check list, focus on what really matters.
- Master’s/B.Tech with 12+ years in Customer, Vendor, Material, and Product master data
- Strong SAP MDG expertise (greenfield, data modeling, governance, migration, rollout)
- Experience translating business needs into data/IT solutions; solid ERP (MM, PP, QM, SD) & CPQ knowledge
- Skilled in data quality, migration, profiling, and end-to-end process integration
- Strong stakeholder communication, influencing, and analytical skills
- Hands-on MDG experience (mapping, cleansing, migration) with good grasp of data governance frameworks
- Advanced Excel; Agile/DevOps exposure; relevant SAP/CPQ certifications preferred
