Description
Summary:
The primary function of a Preventative Maintenance Technician is to complete preventative maintenance on all production equipment, following applicable preventative maintenance task lists.
Essential Functions:
- Capable of dismantling equipment as necessary for completion of preventative maintenance tasks and reassembling same without supervision.
- Able to develop the skills needed to read mechanical schematics and blueprints; follow directions from manuals.
- Able to interpret PM work orders and complete them in a timely manner.
- Willing to make suggestions on improvements or additions to PM task lists.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and look for defects or potential issues and correct them as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area at all times.
- Comply with all GMP requirements.
- Adhere/comply with all Company policies, procedures and practices.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Works well with others, fostering a team atmosphere.
- Basic experience with hand tools.
- Able to develop proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools and manual repair equipment.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Ability to read and record written instructions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be willing and able to maintain open, effective communication with team members as well as departmental and plant leadership.
- High School or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a formal technical training program or experience in an industrial maintenance role a plus.
