Associate Data Engineer

The IT Data Engineer is responsible for developing and managing the data’s ETL processing, with a focus on quality and risk, to assist in the achievement of analytics objectives.

• Build robust, fault-tolerant data pipelines that clean, transform and aggregate unorganized and messy data into databases or data sources.
• Compile and install database systems, write complex queries and scale to multiple machines.
• Lay the groundwork for a Data Analyst or Data Scientist to easily retrieve the needed data for their evaluations and experiments.
• Provide input to the business strategy to help guide the overall direction of data management and data quality within the organization.

Essential qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field

• Excellent communication, verbal and written skills

Key competencies

• Either SQL or Java or C++ is a must

• Awareness of software development lifecycle (testing, deployment, releases) demonstrated through assignment or projects is a must

• Awareness of Agile development methodologies– Azure VSTS, SCRUM is a plus

• Good to have skills on Hadoop technologies like Sqoop, Hive, HBASE, Spark, python, Scala

• Experience in working with Real Time Integrations, IoT projects is a bonus, for instance, Kafka, NiFi, cloud (e.g. AWS, Google or Azure).
