Under general supervision, the Coordinator of Operations Day Services is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and coordination of assigned program operations to ensure high-quality services, regulatory compliance, and efficient functioning of sites within ADAPT of the Hudson Valley. This position provides support to the Senior Coordinator of Operations and Vice President of Program Services by assisting with personnel management, quality assurance, physical plant oversight, and program performance. The Coordinator of Operations Day Services ensures that programs are operated in accordance with agency policies, OPWDD regulations, and the organization’s mission and values.


 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Key duties and responsibilities of the Coordinator of Operations Day Services include but are not limited to:
  • Ensure that all measures for health, safety, and well-being are maintained at the highest level across assigned sites.
  • Oversee the daily operations of assigned programs, providing support and guidance to program leadership and direct support staff to ensure the delivery of person-centered services.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor compliance with OPWDD, agency, and health and safety standards.
  • Support the performance management of staff in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Assist in scheduling and staffing to ensure adequate coverage and quality care for the people supported.
  • Maintain accurate records related to staff performance, training, and program compliance; document supervisory sessions and    performance follow-up.
  • Respond to routine program and operational issues, escalating complex matters to the Senior Coordinator of Operations as appropriate.
  • Support the implementation of agency policies, procedures, and best practices across assigned programs to ensure consistent and compliant service delivery.
  • Monitor facility maintenance, cleanliness, and safety standards; coordinate with Facilities or appropriate departments to address issues promptly.
  • Assist with reviewing and monitoring budgets, staffing patterns, and operational efficiency within assigned programs
  • Participate in investigations, audits, and compliance reviews as directed.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the development and execution of individualized, person-centered plans.
  • Serve as a liaison with families, advocates, and external providers to promote communication, engagement, and satisfaction.
  • Participate in agency and program meetings, committees, and work groups as assigned.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, staff development, and program effectiveness.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive information related to staff, individuals supported, and agency operations.
  • Employees may be mandated to work beyond their scheduled shift based on operational needs.
  • Orientation and training will be conducted at the agency Headquarters in Middletown. 
  • Perform other related duties as requested. 


Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field  
  • At least seven years of managerial experience, preferably with the developmentally disabled population  
  • Strong understanding of OPWDD regulations and person-centered service delivery.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic record systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
  • Valid New York State Driver’s License is preferred.
  • Passion for ADAPT's mission and demonstrates a commitment to the non-profit disability sector.

 Salary $72,000 - $75,000 per year
