We are partnering with a high-growth spacecraft startup in the Seattle area that is reshaping the
industry. They are looking for a Thermal Engineer to lead thermal modeling, analysis, and
control strategies for high-temperature thruster hardware and integrated spacecraft bus systems.
This role can be structured at either the Senior or Principal level, depending on your depth of
experience.

What You Will Do
As a Thermal Engineer, you will bridge the gap between component-level physics and systemlevel architecture, working closely with fluids, structural, electrical, and systems teams.
You will develop high-fidelity, transient thermal models for advanced thruster systems,
predicting temperature distributions, re-radiation mitigation, and conduction paths to the bus.
You will design passive and active spacecraft thermal control systems, simulating orbital
environments across multiple mission phases using Thermal Desktop and SINDA/FLUINT.
You will also support propulsion test campaigns with pre-test predictions, instrumentation
planning, and post-test model correlation.
What You Bring
Basic Qualifications:
You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, or a related field.
You have 5 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's, or 3 or more years with a Master's, of
hands-on experience designing and modeling thermal solutions for spacecraft, satellites, or
propulsion hardware.
You possess deep proficiency in Thermal Desktop and SINDA/FLUINT, with Ansys
Mechanical being a plus.
You have a strong grasp of orbital thermal environments and space mission challenges.
Preferred Skills:
Direct experience analyzing high-temperature propulsion or thruster hardware is highly
preferred.
You have a master-level understanding of heat transfer fundamentals, including hightemperature material behavior and radiation.
You have the ability to back up complex models with quick, first-principles hand calculations.
