CNC Programmer
West Heslerton | Monday to Friday | Regular Overtime Available
Salary: £33,376 - £40,677 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with regular paid overtime available
Are you an experienced CNC Programmer with Heidenhain programming experience and a strong background in complex CNC milling and precision machining?
Based in West Heslerton, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering manufacturer producing high-quality precision components within a clean, organised and professional workshop.
For this position, previous hands-on experience programming CNC milling machinery using Heidenhain controls is essential, alongside a strong understanding of more complex milling operations and machining techniques.
We're looking for someone who is confident programming, setting and operating CNC milling machinery, working with intricate components, challenging machining requirements and tight tolerances.
What you'll be doing
-
Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machinery using Heidenhain controls.
-
Creating, editing and optimising CNC programmes for complex milling and precision machining operations.
-
Machining intricate components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
-
Working from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
-
Selecting appropriate tooling, cutting strategies, speeds and feeds for challenging machining operations.
-
Setting up machinery and ensuring accurate machining of components.
-
Inspecting finished components and maintaining high standards of precision and quality.
-
Troubleshooting machining issues and identifying improvements to programmes, cycle times and processes.
-
Maintaining a safe, organised and professional working environment.
What we're looking for
The key requirement for this position is proven Heidenhain programming experience combined with a strong background in complex CNC milling and precision machining.
Ideally, you'll have:
-
Previous experience programming CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls - essential.
-
Strong hands-on experience with complex CNC milling operations and challenging machining work - essential.
-
Confidence creating and modifying CNC programmes rather than solely operating pre-programmed machinery.
-
Experience machining intricate, high-precision components to tight tolerances.
-
A strong understanding of tooling, cutting techniques, speeds, feeds and machining processes.
-
The ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
-
Experience setting and operating CNC milling machinery independently.
-
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to overcome machining challenges.
-
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
G & M Code knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential.
Experience with other controls or programming software such as Fanuc, Haas or Fusion 360 would also be beneficial. However, Heidenhain programming experience and the ability to undertake complex milling work are the main requirements for this position.
What's in it for you?
-
£33,376 - £40,677 per annum.
-
Full-time, permanent position.
-
Monday to Friday working pattern.
-
Regular paid overtime available.
-
Cycle to Work scheme.
-
Free on-site parking.
-
Stable, well-established engineering business.
-
Supportive and experienced engineering team.
-
Opportunity to work on challenging precision machining projects and further develop your CNC programming skills.
