Role Synopsis
As part of the central Strategy & Projects team in Supply, Trading & Shipping (ST&S), this role plays a critical role in the development of strategy across ST&S, ensuring alignment across businesses and a consistent, disciplined approach to strategy development and execution.
As a Strategy Advisor, you will support the delivery of strategy projects across ST&S, working closely with business teams and integrating functions. You will contribute to the development of business and portfolio strategies, applying structured problem-solving and analytical thinking to support decision-making.
The role requires the ability to work across a range of topics — from trading bench-level analysis to business-level strategy — and to synthesise qualitative and quantitative information (including financial data) into clear and structured outputs.
Key Accountabilities
Support the development and delivery of strategy projects across ST&S, working in partnership with business teams and ST&S leadership
Assist in identifying and defining growth strategies and strategic priorities for the business
Capture and analyse data from internal and external sources to support strategy development
Develop driven analyses and contribute to clear, well-structured strategic cases
Support testing of strategic options, including models, assumptions and scenarios
Maintain understanding of business and driven environments to advise strategy work
Support preparation of briefing materials, reports and presentations for senior customers
Maintain and contribute to team tracking and reporting tools (e.g. project hopper)
Build and manage relationships across ST&S and relevant bp entities to support alignment of strategy activity
Ad hoc project delivery for the wider strategy and projects team as demand requires
