Overview
The Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing reports to the Vice President of Operations, having the highest authority in the area, representing the employer, being responsible for all the sale of rooms, banquets, catering (events) and other lines of income of the portfolio of the six hotels and resorts within Intursa, managed by Highgate Hotels. The Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing is in charge of cultivating the relationships with the clients and proactively expanding the contact base of potential customers locally and internationally. This role is responsible of supervising the performance of the leaders in the areas of sales, marketing, business intelligence and the execution of the strategy/tactical plans.
Responsibilities
Functions & Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of the annual sales budget, as well as forecasts and meetings with owners.
- Manage, direct and supervise the sales & marketing management of the sales team, production by items, proactive sales activity – customer visits, site inspections, outbound call activities. Monitor team activities against set goals.
- Develop sales & marketing team goals.
- Lead the progress reports of project schedules and indicators.
- Manage team productivity through commercial systematics and efficient performance. Take action when goals are not met.
- Manage the follow-up of the incentive scheme of the sales areas.
- Work on efficiencies and business process improvements.
- Correct critical points of audits of the sales areas.
- Prepare reports and sales reports, handling confidential information upon request for correct decision making.
- Development of strategies and tactical plans for sales of the different segments.
- Identify market trends and monitor major competitors and adjust strategies as required
- Reports to the Vice President of Operations for the monitoring and control of the budget of sales, marketing and commercial intelligence expenses.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- At least 7 years of progressive hotel sales experience; and a 4-year college degree and and Master's Degree
- Supervisory experience required.
- Must have a driver’s license in the applicable state.
- Must be proficient in Windows, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English and Spanish both verbally and in writing; advanced language skills
- Intermediate Computer knowledge
- Traveling is required for this role
- Experience with platforms/systems such as STR, Opera demand360, office suite and sales force is required.
