Description
Our client is a well established, highly regarded supply chain strategy and logistics engineering consulting firm. They "play" in multiple arenas including healthcare, consumer goods, food & beverage, government and eCommerce verticals. They are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented person to join their team and lead the growth of client relationships in a high-autonomy, entrepreneurial role. While company headquarters are located on the east coast of the US, this is considered a remote opportunity!
As the primary contact to current clients and prospective ones, the BDM will manage communications, address inquiries, and ensure client satisfaction, driving loyalty and long-term retention. This role is ideal for a proactive, client-focused leader who takes pride in both building client relationships and delivering exceptional service.
Experience & Qualifications
- BA/BS required, MA/MS is preferred
- 6+ years of prior experience managing a Business Development team (5 direct reports) in the supply chain space
- Proven ability to both "lead" a team effectively AND to function as a high-level individual executive
- Experience both as an effective "hunter" and ability ot nurture and expand client relationships
- Understanding of supply chain and material handling technology
- Strong relationship building and social skills
- Effective communication skills through phone, email, and in person
- Ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes
- High level of proficiency with MS Office software, especially Microsoft Office
Key Responsibilities
- Strategically develop actionable and achievable business plans while ensuring their effective execution- meet/exceed all essential business objectives
- Effective communication skills through phone, email, and in person to internal (executive team) and external (existing and new) clients
- Pursue companies with revenues over $200M
- Identify and research target companies and industry verticals
- Participate in trade shows
- Target and develop new business for specific market segments and geographical regions
Work Environment (remote):
While visiting clients, sites could consist of warehouse/distribution operations, manufacturing operations with variable conditions
