Overview
The Associate plays a critical role ensuring reliable and compliant manufacturing of biotherapeutic products by supporting essential cell culture, bioprocessing, and manufacturing operations that contribute directly to patient-focused outcomes. This is a hands-on role performing all activities within the production facility to produce biopharmaceutical products.
Responsibilities
- Assist in cell culture activities: vial thaw, cell passaging, cell counting
- Assist in Single Use Bioreactor (SUB) bioreactor operations, set up, pH/DO probes calibrations, media additions, inoculation, etc
- Cleaning, weighing, mixing and process monitoring, maintaining inventory of equipment parts, clean room supplies, perform testing of materials/supplies (i.e. integrity testing of filters)
- Assisting in product changeovers cleaning
- Assembly, disassembly and operation of bioprocess and laboratory equipment such as bioreactors, filter assemblies, and pump setups
- Prepare buffers, media, and other solutions needed for manufacturing practices
- Assist in the investigation of environmental excursions and deviations
Qualifications
- AS/BA/BS in Biology, Chemistry or Life Sciences
- 0-2 years’ experience in Biotech/Pharma industry
- 0-2 years' experience in GMP
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity
- Ability to work and to stand for long periods and lift 30 - 40 pounds
- Availability for extended day shifts, weekends, and holiday work, as needed
- The ability to work in a clean room environment with good aseptic technique
- Ability to read, write, understand and work from SOP
- Word processing ability including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
