Responsibilities:
- Design and implement all aspects of system level software such VMM/hypervisors, operating systems, device drivers and PC firmware
- Work on new projects as well as provide support and improvements for existing components
- Analyse and debug problems at the cross-section of hardware, firmware and software
- Provide solutions for macro and micro verification of the developed components
- Take ownership of large functional areas such as memory manager or networking subsystem
- Provide performance improvements for existing solutions
- Provide engineering support for customer issues, this may require remote or on-site problem analysis and direct collaboration with a customer
- Provide efficient designs aligned with business needs
- Collaborate with other development and management teams to provide solutions that fit into existing constraints as well as provide leadership when such constrains needs to be changed
Job Requirements:
- Expert understanding of modern computer architectures with focus on x86-64 architecture and PC platforms
- Expert understanding of virtualization technologies, including hardware assisted virtualization (both VT-x and AMDV) and auxiliary technologies such as IO-MMU
- Expert understanding of modern operating systems (Windows and Linux)
- Experience with building efficient memory manager solutions for virtualization products
- Experience with building efficient nested virtualization products
- Experience in building CPU instructions emulators
- Hands-on experience developing PC platform components such as xHCI controllers (and USB stack in general), PCI, AHCI, ACPI, PS/2, etc., device virtualization and emulation experience is a plus
- Reverse engineering experience of closed-sourced systems such as Hyper-V and Windows kernel
- Hands-on experience with building WHP based solutions
- Strong debugging and analytical skills
- 5+ years of experience in kernel and device driver development in Linux or Windows
- 5+ years of experience developing system software in C and x86 assembler
The following skills and attributes are a plus:
- Understanding of ARM64 architecture
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Hypervisor Platform
- Deep understanding of components in the OSI networking model with emphasis on TCP/IP protocols
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred

The pay range for this role is $105,050 to $161,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related
knowledge, skills, and experience.
