Description
The Urban Renewal Authority (“URA”) is tasked to undertake, encourage, promote and facilitate urban renewal of Hong Kong in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance and the Urban Renewal Strategy published by the Government. The URA adopts a comprehensive and holistic approach by ways of its two core businesses i.e. redevelopment and rehabilitation, as well as preservation, revitalisation and retrofitting, for creating a sustainable and quality living environment for the people of Hong Kong.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a bilingual editorial writer to draft press releases, features stories, speeches and other communication materials that convey URA’s positive messages effectively
Identify stories with news angles and pitch to suitable media to generate positive coverage on the URA
Maintain good relationships with local media outlets and build strong connections with media influencers
Assist in handling media enquiries and preparing draft replies to promulgate the URA’s message
Support the execution of media activities, including media conferences/briefings, press tours, media luncheons and interviews to foster understanding of the URA’s work
Requirements:
Degree holder, preferably in Communications or related disciplines
Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in public relations or mass media, with at least 1 year in supervisory role
Experience in journalism will be an advantage
Hands-on experience in editorial writing (both Chinese and English), and production of publicity materials
Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua)
