Job Description
The Systems Engineer – Drive System Solutions is responsible for supporting the design, integration, validation, and deployment of system-level drive solutions. This role works closely with Product Management, Program Management, Application/Design Engineering, and Sales to ensure that customer requirements are translated into effective and scalable system designs.
Core Objective: Develop and validate system-level solutions that optimize performance, integration, and reliability while supporting successful product adoption and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
System Architecture & Solution Design
- Develop system-level architectures integrating motors, drives, gearing, and control systems
- Translate customer application requirements into structured system designs
- Define performance requirements, system constraints, and integration considerations
- Support trade-off analysis to optimize performance, cost, and scalability
System Integration & Validation
- Support integration of components into complete drive system solutions
- Develop and execute validation plans to ensure system performance and reliability
- Perform system-level testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Ensure solutions meet defined requirements and application needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Management to align system solutions with product strategy and roadmap
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure feasibility and technical alignment
- Support Program Management in executing development timelines and deliverables
- Partner with Sales and Solutions Engineering teams to support customer opportunities
Customer & Application Support
- Support customer engagements by providing technical expertise on system solutions
- Assist in defining application requirements and validating proposed designs
- Participate in technical discussions, reviews, and solution presentations
- Help resolve technical issues during pre-sales and post-sales phases
Technical Documentation
- Develop system-level documentation including:
- Architecture diagrams
- Integration guidelines
- Performance calculations and specifications
- Validation reports and test results
- Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and aligned with internal standards
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field required
- 3–6 years of experience in systems engineering, application engineering, or design engineering within automation or motion control
- Strong understanding of motion control systems, electric motors, drives, and integrated system architectures
- Experience with system integration, testing, and validation in industrial or automation environments
- Ability to translate application requirements into system-level designs
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and control systems (preferred)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Customer-focused mindset and ability to support technical engagements
- Experience working in multidisciplinary, dynamic environments
- Preferred Qualifications include:
- Experience with warehouse management system (WMS) integration or fleet management software.
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards for AGVs/AMRs (e.g., ANSI/RIA R15.08, ISO 3691-4).
- Hands-on experience with Linux environments and Python or C++ for diagnostics and scripting
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Both Domestic and International Travel up to 15%
