Job Description
The Strategic Account Manager represents Rockwell Automation’s comprehensive portfolio of automation, digital transformation, power monitoring, and industrial software solutions to strategic Data Center customers that have made a substantial business commitment. Reporting to the Industry Director, you will lead global partnership development with hyperscale, colocation, cloud, and enterprise data center customers while promoting Rockwell Automation’s value proposition at executive and senior leadership levels.
You will be responsible for building trusted relationships with key customer stakeholders, including executives responsible for data center operations, infrastructure, capacity planning, sustainability, energy management, and digital transformation initiatives. This role provides worldwide leadership and coordination across Rockwell Automation sales, technical, and support teams to expand the adoption of our solutions throughout the customer’s global data center footprint.
Essential Functions
- Represent the breadth of Rockwell Automation’s products, software, and services portfolio, with a focus on solutions supporting critical infrastructure, power management, automation, digitalization, sustainability, and operational resilience within data center environments.
- Engage senior leadership and executive stakeholders to articulate the business value of Rockwell Automation solutions, linking outcomes to customer priorities such as uptime, capacity utilization, energy efficiency, sustainability, operational excellence, and risk mitigation.
- Develop strategic, trust-based relationships with executive sponsors and key influencers across global data center organizations.
- Create and execute growth strategies that increase Rockwell Automation’s share of wallet across customer data center operations worldwide.
- Identify, qualify, and prioritize opportunities to deploy Rockwell Automation resources in support of customer initiatives involving facility operations, power distribution, cooling systems, infrastructure monitoring, digital transformation, and automation.
- Ensure strategic customers have access to the full breadth of Rockwell Automation resources through collaboration with product business units, industry teams, technical consultants, geographic sales organizations, and executive leadership.
- Participate in customer planning, design, expansion, and modernization initiatives, providing insight into automation, operational technology (OT), industrial software, analytics, and infrastructure optimization strategies.
- Identify new growth opportunities that support customer objectives in areas such as AI-ready infrastructure, energy management, sustainability, predictive maintenance, cybersecurity, and asset optimization.
- Develop and execute annual strategic account plans in coordination with worldwide Rockwell Automation teams and customer stakeholders, communicating progress regularly throughout the year.
- Support customers as they expand globally, ensuring consistent engagement and solution delivery across regions.
- Travel as needed to support executive relationship development, strategic planning sessions, and major customer initiatives.
- Work with customers to develop and promote reference architectures, success stories, and case studies that demonstrate measurable business outcomes and industry leadership.
- Serve as a model for executive-level selling and provide mentorship to sales colleagues across the organization.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel approximately 25–50%.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of sales experience serving Data Center, Critical Infrastructure, Cloud, Colocation, Mission-Critical Facilities, Energy Management, or Industrial Technology customers.
- Understanding of data center operations, including power systems, electrical distribution, cooling infrastructure, building management systems, asset management, resilience, and uptime requirements.
- 3+ years of strategic account management experience with hyperscale, colocation, cloud, or enterprise data center customers.
- Experience selling automation, software, digital transformation, infrastructure monitoring, energy management, or industrial technology solutions into mission-critical environments.
- Consultative and solution-selling experience, with the ability to align customer business drivers to technology investments and operational outcomes.
- Experience working with executive stakeholders responsible for data center operations, facilities, engineering, sustainability, and infrastructure strategy.
- Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and geographically dispersed teams.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across sales, engineering, services, software, and customer support organizations.
- Familiarity with emerging trends including AI data centers, digital twins, sustainability initiatives, industrial cybersecurity, and intelligent infrastructure management.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.

For this role, the Total Target Compensation is from $158,000.00 - 237,000.00 USD Annual, of which 60% is base salary and 40% is variable. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
