Job Summary and Responsibilities
As an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) at CHI St. Joseph's Health, you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality perioperative care that truly impacts our surgical patients' well-being and recovery.

Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and immediate post-operative assessment, planning, and evaluation of surgical patients.
- Prepare the operating room, ensuring equipment, instruments, and sterile field meet AORN standards and patient-specific needs.
- Circulate and/or scrub for diverse surgical procedures, actively anticipating surgeon's needs and maintaining patient safety.
- Accurately document all aspects of patient care, surgical events, and interventions in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other care team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Implement nursing interventions delegated, ordered, or prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider within the perioperative setting.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique, infection control protocols, and patient safety initiatives (e.g., time-out).
Job Requirements
Required
- Graduate of accredited professional nursing education program
- Registered Nurse Licensed by the state of Minnesota
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one (1) year of start date
Preferred
- OR/PACU experience
