Mission
- The CM-FMS Corporate Sales Amsterdam Desk is responsible for marketing and selling standard (plain vanilla) structures and derivative products (FX, interest rates, commodities, bonds and equities) to clients within the International Corporate Banking Division.
- The role is part of the Continental Europe Corporate Sales team and requires a proactive mindset, including contributing to business development and action plans in collaboration with the Head of FMS Continental Europe.
- Clients are located across Belgium, Luxembourg and, the Netherlands requiring occasional travel.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients as well as internal stakeholders (IC RM, Credit, Trading, XVA, Lending, and Bond Origination teams).
- Ensure effective communication with other Commerzbank Capital Markets teams in Paris, London and Frankfurt.
- Maximize revenue opportunities and optimize RWA returns, positioning as a trusted expert for clients.
- Act as a key member of the Amsterdam office, supporting the Head of FMS Continental Europe and team members as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide analysis and professional advisory support to clients while generating revenue and maintaining strong relationships.\
- Comply with bank governance policies, procedures, and first line of defense compliance responsibilities.
- Actively contribute to fostering Commerzbank’s compliance culture.
- Develop a deep understanding of client business models and support relationship managers in full client coverage, including AML/KYC processes.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Lead and coordinate projects, track progress, and ensure delivery of objectives.
- Support the development and enhancement of processes, systems, and procedures.
- Provide expert advice with strong technical expertise and commercial awareness.
- Deliver high-quality daily service, ensuring proper implementation of procedures and standards.
- Work independently with limited supervision while managing assigned client relationships.
- Develop and implement medium-term operational plans and contribute to strategic initiatives.
- Travel as required for client coverage.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the bank.
Education
- University degree required.
- CFA or MBA qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
Professional Knowledge and Skills
- At least 5 years of experience in FMS product sales within an international bank.
- Knowledge of multiple FMS products is advantageous; training provided in specific areas (FX, rates, or commodities).
- Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
- Working knowledge of French and German is an advantage.
- Familiarity with local banking regulations.
- Proven track record in sales management and achieving sales targets, with strong internal stakeholder management.
- Ability to drive business growth through sales and cross-functional collaboration across internal business units.
