The Associate Legal Counsel will be based in Sofia and will support the Contracts Desk for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (ЕМЕА) in the review, negotiation, and drafting of various agreements with business partners.
What you will do as an Associate Legal Counsel:
Independently review, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including complex, multi-jurisdictional agreements, under the company’s established policies and procedures
Engage directly with vendors and customers in all legal aspects of contract negotiation
Provide timely, business-oriented legal advice on contractual and other legal issues, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives
Contribute to the development, enforcement and continuous improvement of the company’s policies and procedures for contract review and negotiation
Leverage legal technology and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and quality of legal work
Support and enhance contract management processes, including document lifecycle tracking and compliance monitoring
What you’ll bring:
Law degree from a European university
4+ years of post-qualification experience in-house and/or in an international law firm, including substantial experience independently reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements
Fluency in English with full legal working proficiency. Additional European languages, particularly French, are considered a plus
Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
Positive, proactive and collaborative mindset with a genuine interest in learning and contributing to a high-performing legal team
Curiosity and ability to quickly understand and address complex legal and commercial issues
Attention to detail without losing sight of business objectives
Comfortable working with legal technology, contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms and AI-enabled tools
Ability to manage a high volume of contracts and competing priorities in a fast-paced international environment
