Description
Join the ECI Group's Professional Technical Services Network as a contract Inspector - Pressure Equipment Integrity. This is a Deer Park, TX based contract role with an anticipated 6-month duration with an estimated start date of July 1st. Note: You must be a US Citizen or Permanent US Resident to qualify for this position.
About the Role
Provide field-based inspection and integrity oversight for Pressure Equipment Integrity (PEI) activities on projects to ensure construction, installation, testing and turnover meet applicable codes, specifications, and asset integrity requirements—delivered safely, compliant, and right-first-time.
2) What’s the role
As a Projects PEI Inspector, you will work alongside project execution and discipline teams to verify pressure equipment, piping, and associated systems are fabricated, installed, and tested to approved standards. You will witness hold points, validate documentation, manage punch lists/NCRs, and support commissioning and handover to Operations.
3) What You’ll be Doing
- Execute inspection activities per ITPs: piping, static equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, valves and associated supports/anchors.
- Witness and verify NDT, PWHT, pressure/leak tests, material traceability and welding documentation.
- Perform field surveillance of contractors to confirm work quality, workmanship, and compliance with drawings/specs.
- Verify PEI deliverables: MDRs, test packs, redlines/as-builts, certificates and turnover dossiers.
- Participate in walkdowns, mechanical completion, systemization, punch management and commissioning readiness.
- Promote HSSE: PTW/LOTO adherence, hazard identification, stop-work authority and safe execution.
4) Key Accountabilities
- Quality & compliance: inspection findings are accurate, timely, and aligned to code/project requirements.
- Hold point management: required witness points completed and documented with clear acceptance criteria.
- NCR/punch discipline: issues raised early, tracked to closure, and verified before handover.
- Documentation integrity: complete, audit-ready inspection records, traceability and turnover packs.
- Stakeholder coordination: effective interface with Construction, QA/QC, Welding, NDT, Commissioning and Operations.
- Continuous improvement: identify repeat issues, share lessons learned, and improve ITP/field execution.
5) What You Bring
- Technical foundation in mechanical/piping/inspection (degree, diploma, or trade background with relevant experience).

- Familiarity with welding, NDT methods, pressure testing, material certification/traceability and test pack management.
- Strong field presence: attention to detail, assertive but collaborative communication, and sound judgment.
- Competence in PTW/LOTO and construction HSSE requirements; willing to intervene/stop unsafe work.
- Strong documentation skills and comfort with digital tools (inspection reports, Excel/SharePoint, CMMS/turnover systems).
