This is an exciting opportunity to join the Performance Reporting and Controls team, playing a key role in how programme and project performance is managed across SYMCA. You will help ensure that high-quality information, reporting, and governance arrangements support effective decision-making and successful programme delivery.

Applications must be accompanied by a cover letter to detail how you meet the criteria as detailed within the role profile. (please see role profile attached). Please note, all applications should be made directly via our careers portal.

Interviews for this role are expected to take place in early September.

About the role

As a Senior Programme and Performance Officer, you will lead the development and continuous improvement of SYMCA’s programme and project management information system (MIS), ensuring it provides accurate, reliable, and accessible information to support programme delivery and performance management.

You will work closely with colleagues, partners, and system providers to enhance reporting processes and ensure consistent use of performance management tools across a range of funded programmes. The role includes designing and developing reports, dashboards, performance measures, and Power BI reporting solutions that provide meaningful insight and support strategic decision-making.

You will lead the delivery of training and guidance, helping users make effective use of systems and reporting tools. You will also undertake data quality and assurance activities, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring information remains accurate, consistent, and compliant with organisational requirements.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will provide expert advice on performance reporting and management information, helping stakeholders translate complex data into clear and actionable insights. The role also includes line management responsibilities and supporting the ongoing development of reporting and governance practices.

About you

You are an experienced performance, reporting, or management information professional with a strong understanding of how data and reporting support programme and project delivery. You are confident working with complex information and developing solutions that improve reporting, performance monitoring, and decision-making.

You have excellent analytical skills and are able to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate findings clearly to a range of audiences. You are comfortable designing and developing reporting tools and dashboards and have practical experience using Power BI, including data modelling, report development, and visualisation, to improve performance management and support effective decision-making.

You are a strong communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. You enjoy working collaboratively, supporting colleagues through change, and developing practical solutions to complex challenges.

You are organised, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring high standards of data quality, governance, and performance reporting.
