The Opportunity:

Executes day-to-day inventory & material management tasks at customer facilities, following a defined standard output or set of procedures. Tasks include receiving, inspection, inventory logging, proper storage, and timely distribution of inbound and outbound materials to end users. Problems and issues faced are generally recurring and solutions are typically known and/or prescribed.​ Examples are: inbound shipments arriving with missing or damaged items, discrepancies between system records and physical stock, or items stored in incorrect locations, leading to inefficiencies in retrieval. More complex problems, like supply chain interruptions or system/software malfunctions, are solved by applying methods learned through experience and/or using available support. Communicates activity records, service level metrics and other information requiring some explanation or interpretation to team members, supervisors or customers.

Logistics Technician

Location: Nijmegen, Netherlands
Contract: Full-time | Initial 1-year contract with the possibility of conversion to a permanent position

About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Logistics Technician to support inventory management and material handling activities at our client's site in Nijmegen. This role is essential to ensuring the uninterrupted supply of materials and consumables that support Production and Quality Control operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inventory replenishment, material ordering, warehouse coordination, stock management, and material movement activities. Working closely with internal teams, warehouses, suppliers, and service providers, you will help maintain efficient operations while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Production and Quality Control inventory replenishment activities.
  • Process material requests and orders for Production and QC teams.
  • Coordinate warehouse requests, stock retrieval, and material distribution activities.
  • Restock laboratory and production consumables to ensure operational continuity.
  • Manage disposable inventory levels and gowning replenishment activities.
  • Control and maintain documentation associated with incoming goods and deliveries.
  • Coordinate the movement of materials between site locations.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through effective stock management and inventory control practices.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc cleaning activities.
  • Coordinate vendor visits and provide escort support where required.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Provide cross-functional support to other departments as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance logistics and inventory processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience within a logistics, warehouse, supply chain, or operational environment is preferred.
  • Experience handling dangerous goods and/or cryogenic materials is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ADR regulations for the transport and handling of dangerous goods is desirable.
  • Experience supporting scientific, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or research organisations is beneficial.
  • Proven ability to work effectively to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Working Environment

This role is primarily based within an operational and warehouse environment, with regular interaction in laboratory and production areas.

The position may involve:

  • Frequent walking and standing throughout the working day.
  • Bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying materials, typically weighing up to 20 kg.
  • Handling hazardous materials, dangerous goods, solvents, chemicals, and biological or medical samples in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Working with cryogenic materials and temperature-controlled products where applicable.
  • Coordination of warehouse, laboratory, and production-related logistics activities.
  • Compliance with all site safety, quality, and operational procedures.
