GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Performs professional systems administration, enhancement, and maintenance for applications and systems in support of the Driscoll Health System’s information technology department. . Works along-side developers, DBAs, Epic, network, and security teams to implement system wide business and clinical applications. Coordinates vendor activities with end user needs, or participate in demos and testing vendor provided software to evaluate for possible use.
Builds and implements system-wide business and clinical solutions. Evaluates existing components or systems to determine build, configuration, integration, and other technical requirements and to ensure final solutions meets the system-wide needs.
Position may be business or clinical focused, or may be general in nature.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Positions in this class may perform any or all of the below listed duties. These should be interpreted as examples of the work, and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
- Gathers data and information on processing steps/workflows, clarifies requirements by observing and interviewing end users and other involved staff, and translates into applications to support those needs.
- Designs, implements and maintains new or existing applications, and provides tier 2 and higher technical support to a wide variety of departments.
- Prepares test data, scenarios, and coordinates system testing related to new or existing development, and new product code releases; maintains logs, and ensures fixes are in place prior to implementation.
- Participates in the design and configuration management of assigned production, test, backup, recovery, migration and archive systems and procedures. 5.
- Works project tasks, requests, tickets, and plans and coordinates Change Management for all assigned systems.
- Researches and provides input related to strategic direction for application and server security for a variety of business and clinical solutions.
- Reads technical journals and attends seminars and workshops to learn about new developments and changing technology trends.
- Recommends proper hardware and software implementations to improve quality, efficiency and minimize costs.
- Provides technical information, documentation, and/or instruction in non-technical terms to end users.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.
- Mentors and trains others.
- Performs other related work as required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
- Business or Clinical Analyst: Associate’s degree and/or applicable technical certification(s), and/or two (2) to six (6) years of relevant technical experience.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES– required for both business and clinical analysts. Knowledge:
- Applies principles and practices of applications and systems in specific field of specialization.
- Systems administration and procedures analysis.
- Operation and capabilities of a various hardware and peripheral equipment, operating system software, utility programs and commands, and file move applications.
- Technical troubleshooting, analysis, and problem solving.
