Job Overview

The Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics (The Lab) at Georgetown University seeks a full-time Associate Director for Operations of The Art of Care Initiative, a flagship program that integrates performance, storytelling, and facilitated dialogue to advance human connection, trust, and care across sectors including healthcare, public health, education, and civic life.

The Associate Director will support the implementation and continued growth of the Initiative by helping coordinate programs, manage partnerships, and advance day-to-day operations. Working closely with The Lab’s Artistic and Executive Director and Managing Director, the Associate Director will play a key role in executing the Initiative’s vision, supporting a wide range of programs both on campus and with external partners.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting planning and execution of The Art of Care Initiative programs, including workshops, performances, convenings, and interdisciplinary collaborations.

• Managing and coordinating relationships with internal Georgetown partners, including School of Health, Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, Global Health Institute, Earth Commons, as well as external partners.

• Providing In Your Shoes™ Program Support (The Lab’s signature IYS program is the core methodology for the Initiative).

• Assisting with communications for the The Art of Care Initiative (outreach and marketing).

• Supporting scheduling, coordination, and internal communication across Initiative activities.

• Assisting with budget tracking, reporting, and documentation.

Work Interactions

The Associate Director for Operations, The Art of Care Initiative will report to and work in close collaboration with Artistic and Executive Director, Derek Goldman and General Manager/Associate Producer Ersian Francois, and may occasionally supervise student staff.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)

• Strong organizational / administrative skills and attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines simultaneously

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Interest in arts-based practices, storytelling, and interdisciplinary collaboration

• Experience in event coordination, arts programming, or community-based work is a plus

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$44,022.00 - $73,406.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
