Job Summary
The Senior SAP Concur Technical Consultant / Software Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and support of SAP Concur solutions for enterprise clients. The role combines senior client-facing consulting responsibilities with software engineering, system integration, solution design, and application implementation activities. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and reliable SAP Concur solutions across Expense, Travel, Request, and Invoice Management. The role will also provide technical leadership, guide junior team members, review solution quality, and contribute to project planning, pre-sales, and delivery governance.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead client discussions and workshops to understand business processes, operational requirements, technical constraints, integration dependencies, and transformation objectives.
- Analyse complex business requirements and translate them into functional specifications, technical designs, system configurations, integration specifications, and implementation plans.
- Lead the design, configuration, customization, and implementation of SAP Concur solutions, including Expense, Travel, Request, and Invoice Management modules.
- Configure SAP Concur components such as expense types, policies, audit rules, approval workflows, forms, accounting structures, tax settings, payment-processing rules, user roles, permissions, and system controls.
- Design and implement integrations between SAP Concur and external systems, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP ERP, HR systems, payroll applications, financial systems, banking platforms, travel-booking tools, identity-management platforms, and third-party applications.
- Develop, configure, and maintain interfaces using SAP Concur APIs, web services, integration connectors, middleware platforms, secure file-transfer mechanisms, and scheduled data-exchange processes.
- Perform data mapping, transformation-rule definition, field validation, authentication setup, interface configuration, error-handling design, and integration monitoring.
- Apply software engineering and system-development lifecycle practices across requirements analysis, technical design, configuration, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.
- Prepare and review functional and technical documentation, including solution-design documents, configuration workbooks, interface specifications, data-mapping documents, test scenarios, deployment plans, cutover plans, and support manuals.
- Lead unit testing, system integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing support, and technical validation to ensure the solution meets business, performance, security, and reliability requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve complex software defects, integration failures, configuration issues, data discrepancies, workflow errors, authentication problems, and production incidents.
- Perform structured root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive solutions for recurring system and integration issues.
- Lead configuration migrations, system releases, deployment activities, environment management, cutover planning, go-live execution, and post-production stabilization.
- Review solution architecture, system configurations, and integration designs to ensure compliance with client architecture standards, security requirements, data-protection policies, internal controls, and SAP Concur implementation best practices.
- Provide expert guidance to clients on SAP Concur solution design, configuration strategy, integration architecture, process optimization, governance, and platform capabilities.
- Conduct client workshops, solution walkthroughs, product demonstrations, administrator training, end-user training, and knowledge-transfer sessions.
- Collaborate with project managers, software developers, integration engineers, functional consultants, solution architects, business analysts, infrastructure teams, and client stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior consultants and engineers, including solution reviews, troubleshooting support, knowledge sharing, and quality assurance.
- Review project deliverables, configuration quality, technical documentation, test evidence, and deployment readiness before key project milestones and go-live.
- Identify delivery risks, technical dependencies, and design gaps, and recommend practical mitigation measures.
- Monitor system and interface performance and recommend improvements to enhance automation, reliability, scalability, maintainability, data quality, and user experience.
- Stay updated on SAP Concur product releases, API enhancements, integration technologies, security standards, software engineering practices, and industry trends.
- Proactively share technical knowledge, implementation experience, reusable assets, and best practices with internal project and consulting teams.
- Lead or support pre-sales and solution-engineering activities, including requirements assessment, solution architecture, effort estimation, technical proposals, product demonstrations, proof-of-concept development, and responses to client tenders and requests for proposals.
- Contribute to project planning, resource estimation, delivery governance, quality reviews, and stakeholder reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 4–6 years of relevant experience as an SAP Concur Consultant, SAP Concur Technical Consultant, Software Engineer, Systems Integration Consultant, or in a similar enterprise-application role.
- Experience completing at least two full-cycle SAP Concur implementations covering requirements analysis, solution design, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Demonstrated experience leading SAP Concur workstreams, client workshops, solution-design discussions, or technical delivery activities.
- Strong functional and technical knowledge of SAP Concur Expense, Travel, Request, and Invoice Management modules.
- Demonstrated experience configuring and customizing SAP Concur solutions to meet complex business and technical requirements.
- Strong understanding of expense management, corporate travel, invoice processing, approval workflows, taxation, accounting, reimbursement, and payment-processing processes.
- Experience designing, configuring, developing, or supporting integrations between SAP Concur and systems such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP ERP, HR platforms, payroll systems, financial applications, banking platforms, travel-booking systems, and identity-management solutions.
- Working knowledge of APIs, web services, JSON, XML, data mapping, authentication mechanisms, secure file transfer, middleware technologies, and enterprise-integration architecture.
- Understanding of software engineering principles, system-development lifecycle methodologies, change management, release management, version control, technical documentation, testing methodologies, and defect management.
- Experience conducting unit testing, system integration testing, regression testing, technical troubleshooting, defect analysis, and root-cause analysis.
- Ability to review technical designs, configurations, integrations, and project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance.
- Ability to analyse complex business and technical requirements and translate them into practical, scalable, and supportable system solutions.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, workshop-facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, lead assigned workstreams, and collaborate effectively within a cross-functional project team.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines in a client-facing project environment.
- Experience mentoring junior consultants or engineers is desirable.
- Experience supporting pre-sales activities, solution demonstrations, technical proposals, architecture discussions, or effort estimation will be an advantage.
- SAP Concur certification is highly desirable.
