The opportunity
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Business Unit Transformers to join our innovative and forward-thinking team in the Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India, you will play a crucial role in the development and design of innovative products and systems that meet our customer needs and industry standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project specifications are met while adhering to industry standards and design best practices. Your expertise in engineering principles and practices will contribute to optimizing designs for performance, functionality, and sustainability.
- The success candidate will be the part of an International Design and Engineering Team specialized in Oil Distribution Transformer up to 4 MVA 36 kV Class design covering different countries.
- Responsible to generate active part and windings/ Tank & Externals meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE / IEC /IS standards.
- Responsible for Preparation of Customer documents, Manufacturing drawings, Bill of materials etc & submission to customer as per project schedule.
- Understanding of Transformer mechanical design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics
- Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network.
- Participation in internal design concept reviews.
- Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.
- Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

Your background
- B.E / B. Tech Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 to 8 Years working in Mechanical design for Distribution oil filled, Transformers manufacturing Industry. Candidates with higher experience also to be considered.
- Knowledge on CAD software, any 3D Modelling software is a must. Creo is considered as an advantage.
- Should understand Transformer Design, Mechanical Calculations, Dielectrics, clearance/creepage, basic layout and cleats lead arrangement.
- Should have good understanding of IS/ IEC /IEEE Standards & Canadian Standards
- Experience in winding design / Tank & externals is an advantage
- Experience in Simulation or software development would be advantageous.
- Experience on Microsoft office and tools.
- Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.
- Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
