Description
We're hiring a Senior Product Designer to lead design on a customer-facing product. The work sits at the intersection of complex systems and everyday usability: dense permission models, multi-state workflows, and deep integrations that have to feel effortless to the people using them.
You'll be the design lead on this product, shipping the work end to end while helping shape where it goes next. It suits someone who's comfortable operating independently and holding their own with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
Rate: $55-60/hour
Contract: 6+ months (approved beyond 6 months to extend - could convert to perm)
- Design end-to-end experiences for customer-facing digital products — from early discovery and concepting through wireframes, prototypes, and developer-ready specs
- Work embedded in an agile pod alongside product managers, business partners, and engineering, participating in the regular ceremony cadence (standups, refinement, sprint reviews)
- Translate business requirements, regulatory constraints, and technical dependencies into clear, usable flows
- Map and design for complex states — error handling, permissions, entitlements, edge cases, and the paths customers actually take rather than the happy path alone
- Contribute to and work within the enterprise design system, applying existing patterns consistently and proposing new ones where gaps exist
- Partner with research to plan and participate in usability testing, and fold findings back into the work
- Present design rationale to stakeholders and design leadership, incorporate feedback, and advocate for the customer when requirements and usability pull in different directions
- Participate in design critiques across the broader design organization, both giving and receiving feedback
- Keep documentation and Figma files organized and current so work is legible to partners and to whoever picks it up next
- 4+ years of product design experience, design depth & strategy matters more than years
- Experience with complex applications. Enterprise, business, or platform products - secure side or internal platforms.
- A portfolio with substance. Case studies that show the detail of the work, problems solved, the process, & outcomes.
- Strong communication. You can present, defend a rationale, and push back constructively.
- End-to-end ownership on at least one substantial project
- Figma and design systems experience, familiarity with AI tooling in the design workflow
