Job Description

The Center for Global Engagement (CGE) is the campus hub for global information, resources, and engagement opportunities at Campbellsville University. The CGE graduate assistant serves a vital role by working with students and the CGE staff to support and enhance intercultural services and activities across campus. The CGE graduate assistant will work 20 hours per week throughout the academic year, including occasional evening and weekend events.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily office tasks and receptionist responsibilities including greeting visitors, answering the phone, responding to requests for information, and general office maintenance.

  • Assist with the planning and implementation of CGE programs and events.

  • Provide regular assistance with shopping shuttles, summer storage, transportation and other activities as needed.

  • Assist with evaluating activities and services and suggesting improvements for future programs. Be aware of activity policies, procedures, and risk management plans.

  • Provide assistance during new student orientations and International Week.

  • Lead International Student Council meetings and coordinate their work.

  • Assist with the collection and maintenance of student data.

  • Provide reports as needed. Assist with immigration-related paperwork assistance, as supervised by the International Student Advisor and Designated School Official (DSO).

  • Suggest improvements in processes, methods, and services based on the information collection. Maintain confidentiality of all student records according to Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requirements.

  • Assist with the creation, coordination, and dissemination of office outreach and communication efforts.

  • Perform or assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree.

  • Must be enrolled full-time as a graduate student or at least accepted into a Graduate program at Campbellsville University.

  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Dependable, self-motivated, helpful, professional, and friendly. Exhibit excellent communication skills and patience when speaking with new language learners.

  • Exhibit problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Be organized and show attention to detail

  • Eligible and comfortable driving a minivan (and preferably a 15-passenger van) and running errands as needed.
