Job Description

As a Security Officer - Experience Required in Minneapolis, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor entry procedures, directions, and/or general assistance at the location.
• Document routine activities, unusual conditions, and/or maintenance concerns, and communicate with supervisors or campus contacts as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
