Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Join us as a Senior Applied AI Engineer - Markets Sales Technology, to help make better use of data across our Markets business through analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions. You will work with business partners, technology teams, and governance functions to develop data products and insights that support business outcomes, enhance risk oversight, and improve operational efficiency.
 

In this role, you will engineer agentic and AI-enabled capabilities that connect models, data, APIs, workflows, and user actions into safe, scalable, and production-ready application experiences. To be successful as a Senior Applied AI Engineer - Markets Sales Technology, you must have the following essential skills:
 

• Experience designing, developing, and deploying analytics, machine learning, and AI capabilities that deliver measurable business value.
• Proficiency in Python, Java and SQL, with knowledge of statistical modelling, machine learning, and data science techniques applied within enterprise environments.
• Ability to move AI capabilities from discovery through delivery, collaborating with business and technology partners and communicating technical concepts to a range of audiences.
   

Some other highly valued skills may include:
 

• Experience within banking, financial services, or capital markets, particularly supporting Markets or front-office business areas.
• Knowledge of generative AI techniques, including natural language processing, document intelligence, retrieval-augmented generation, or insight-led solutions.
• Experience working with enterprise data platforms, cloud-based analytics environments, MLOps practices, and AI governance frameworks.
