We are currently seeing candidates for Full-time Manufacturing Technician 1 for our San Diego location. This position is for 1st Shift (5:00 am - 2:30 pm).
The Manufacturing Technician 1 position performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations in layup and panel fabrication and assembly.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Handling and managing fragile composite materials. Prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products.
- Experience with layup of uni-directional and weave pre-pregs
- Report status/progress and interface with other employees and departments.
- Tooling preparation and release application.
- Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware.
- Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.
- Execute to written instructions.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 0 - 2 years' of composite lay up/ bonding experience in a manufacturing environment. years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a High School diploma or Technical degree.
- Experience working in a composites/manufacturing environment (space/satellite structures, aerospace manufacturing environment)
- Demonstrated Mechanical Ability
- Ability to work under limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or 2 year Technical degree and 3 years' minimum experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excels in a team environment.
- Ability to work under limited supervision.
- Shows initiative, a self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence.
- Able to read, write and work to written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings in English.
- Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize.
- Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance issues.
- Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.
