Assistant Director, Medical Student Services
JOB OVERVIEW:
Xavier University is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Assistant Director, Medical Student Services to join our XUCOM Medical Student Services team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives in a collaborative, student-focused environment and is passionate about contributing to work that makes a meaningful impact.
The Assistant Director of Medical Student Services at XUCOM supports student success and well-being by coordinating academic support initiatives, enhancing student engagement, and ensuring efficient delivery of student services. This role collaborates with faculty and leadership to address student needs, streamline operations, and advance the medical school’s mission of holistic, student-centered education.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports medical students’ academic success and well-being through coordination of advising, support services, and programming
- Collaborates with faculty and leadership to address student concerns and promote a supportive learning environment
- Assists in the planning and delivery of student engagement initiatives and co-curricular activities
- Helps manage day-to-day operations of Medical Student Services, ensuring efficient and student-centered processes
- Monitors student progress and connects students to appropriate campus and academic resources
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- 2–4 years of experience in student services, academic advising, or higher education administration; Experience working in medical or health professions education preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
- Ability to manage sensitive student information with professionalism and confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems
- Familiarity with academic support programs, student success initiatives, or wellness programming
