As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide courteous customer service. You will communicate clearly with visitors, personnel, and team members while documenting observations and responding to incidents. Pay Rate: $17.87 - $18.87 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to transit passengers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, bus staging areas, platforms, parking areas, and surrounding perimeters to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe activity within assigned areas, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, and communicate professionally with transit personnel, first responders, and the public.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
