(AME4474) Technical Project Manager IT

POSITION IS LOCATED IN TORRANCE, CA

What will this person be working on:
This person will work on one or more Application Development projects for the Automobile Sales and Logistics area, leading the technical planning, solution analysis, implementation strategy, system integration planning, and delivery of enterprise application solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple Application Development projects by providing technical leadership throughout solution planning, technical analysis, technical design, implementation strategy, and delivery of enterprise application solutions
• Forecast and manage project scope, technical implementation plans, solution delivery milestones, budget, and schedule while evaluating technical dependencies, system impacts, implementation risks, technical constraints, and sequencing of application delivery activities
• Lead and facilitate technical design sessions, requirements workshops, architecture discussions, and IT/Business meetings to analyze requirements, validate solution approaches, confirm technical feasibility, and align implementation strategies
• Develop business cases by analyzing business and technical requirements, evaluating solution options, and documenting project goals, technical requirements, implementation objectives, system impacts, required tasks, and resource plans
• Create and manage change requests, technical impact analyses, technical implementation plans, test strategies, deployment documentation, and technical release activities supporting application releases
• Communicate project status for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and J-Event reporting, including technical implementation progress, solution dependencies, key technical risks, architecture impacts, system integration issues, and delivery milestones
• Create project and executive management presentations communicating technical solution recommendations, technical tradeoffs, implementation progress, architecture impacts, project risks, and delivery status
• Analyze and manage project risks/issues by evaluating technical impacts, system dependencies, integration risks, implementation constraints, and alternative solution approaches
• Create Statements of Work (SOWs), define and evaluate technical deliverables, review vendor solution approaches, and manage vendors supporting application development and system implementation efforts
• Assign and manage project tasks/resources while coordinating technical deliverables, implementation priorities, technical dependencies, integration activities, and project milestones
• Coordinate with architecture, infrastructure, application development, QA, security, and business teams to validate technical solution design, system integration, implementation readiness, and application delivery activities
• Analyze business and technical requirements to support application solution planning, system behavior definition, technical specifications, and implementation
• Analyze application architecture, system interfaces, data flows, and integration points to identify technical dependencies, implementation risks, and downstream impacts
• Evaluate alternative technical solutions and implementation approaches based on business requirements, technical feasibility, system impacts, and project objectives
• Develop and document technical implementation strategies, application solution roadmaps, and system integration approaches for enterprise application initiatives
• Partner with architects and development teams to evaluate technical feasibility, compare solution options, and recommend implementation approaches for enterprise application changes
• Translate business objectives into technical delivery requirements, system implementation plans, integration milestones, and release readiness criteria
• Validate that application designs, technical specifications, test strategies, and deployment plans align with enterprise architecture standards and project objectives
• Review technical specifications, application solution designs, and implementation plans to validate alignment with system requirements, project objectives, technical standards, and enterprise architecture standards.
• Lead technical issue resolution by analyzing root causes, coordinating solution options, and driving decisions on remediation approach, implementation sequencing, and release impact
• Assess cross-system impacts, technical dependencies, integration requirements, and implementation risks across multiple enterprise applications
• Collaborate with application architects and development teams to review technical designs, validate implementation approaches, analyze system impacts, and resolve complex technical issues throughout the software development lifecycle

Desired Skills:

• 8+ years managing enterprise Application Development projects with experience leading technical solution planning, application implementation, system integration, and software delivery; 10+ years of IT work experience
• Experience in the Automotive industry
• Business Systems Analysis, application development, systems analysis, or software solution design experience is highly preferred
• SAFe Agile and Scrum Master experience supporting technical application delivery is a MUST
• Ability to lead technical solution delivery within hybrid Agile and Waterfall development environments
• Ability to collaborate with architecture, engineering, QA, infrastructure, security, and business teams throughout the application development lifecycle to validate technical requirements, designs, dependencies, and implementation approaches
• Ability to work on multiple Application Development projects with competing technical dependencies, implementation timelines, and delivery priorities
• Proficient in Clarity/Open Workbench, MS Project, and MS Office for technical project planning, dependency tracking, and implementation reporting
• Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and effectively in ambiguous technical delivery environments
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical solution concepts, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Stable work history with large enterprise organizations

The hiring range for this position is $67.00 to $74.00 per hour, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay rate actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
